I take an annual ride on my motorcycle every year around Memorial Day. My route is usually from Sacramento, hwy 49 to hwy 108, over hwy 108 to 395 and stop in Walker for a burger. From there, head to Monitor Pass and then it's either left on hwy 4 back home, or right to Markleeville and on to Lake Tahoe and home via Grass Valley. Depending on when you ride, I may try to meet up with you around day 2 or 3. It's a fantastic ride no matter where you go up in that area.

Seriously, that looks like an amazing ride. I'm a bit remote from this area, but still temped. Remote now, but was born and raised in LA. Now, a bit north, by several long-ride days.
The point about snow in April is a good one to consider. I've ridden in snow, and it ain't no fun at all. Oh sure, it's all fun until someone loses a leg... then it's hilarious. Seriously, cold is not so fun, and gravity is not always on our side.
But, being anxious for two-wheeled adventure, I'll certainly keep following this thread.

Too bad I'm 6 years late to this party. However, I'm keeping that map for another day. In 2 weeks I'm doing NorCal coast from SF to Crescent City and back popping on and off which ever roads and highways call my name.
I took my M1 test on a 250cc Honda, which they called a motorcycle. So, why is my 400cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled dynamo not a "real bike"??
