Hi Ron, welcome to MajestyUSA. As I'm from Canada I can't help you on price. As for color, I don't think either one is safer than the other. You have get into the high visibility colors like yellow to make a real difference. Your best bet is to wear a helmet in a high visibility color as well as a high vis safety vest. You can also get some very cool high visibility graphics that will help you stand out at night.

That's less than I paid for mine a few months ago here in Virginia.

Regarding the color. I think the blue is great, but one thing about it that I hadn't thought about until I dropped my silver one. I think a scratch on the blue will really show up. It's bairly noticable on my sliver one. I don't think one is any more visable than the other, if anything the blue would be harder to see under low light conditions.
That price seems reasonable. Mine was $5200 + tax in Minnesota last July. I'm thinking that any dealers with '05 models still in stock would be willing to bend some in order to make way for the '06 shipments.
On the other hand, The Maj seems to be in pretty high demand and they might be taking the tact of "if you don't want it, the next guy will".
I spent about 30 seconds deciding on the color. The experienced-rider sales guy mentioned that grey actually blended in to the pavement color around here and that blue becomes more noticeable during the day. I ride with the high beams on during the day anyway.
If you can wait until the dealer gets his hands on an 06 red ,do it. It might cost a few hundred more than the 05 but the red is highly visible and beautiful.
I was at a MC show 2 weeks ago in Long Beack, Ca. and the list diplayed on the MAJ. was $5795 .
I think Yamaha has a special running on the 06 now. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/produ ... /home.aspx

Merry Christmass to all.

You can't go wrong with that price. Of course, I'm biased towards the blue one... 8)
$5,100 plus tax sounds very good. In CT and Mass it is very difficult to find any Majestys. One New York dealer has a silver 06 and I think they want $5,200 PLUS FREIGHT & PREP.
That's an excellent price. Most Yamaha dealers will only sell for full list. Also see if they have any inservice, assembly, dealer fees, etc... Those can add up quick. Most places around here are 5795.00 plus 300. freight 150.00 set up fee and some even had a 100-200 admin fee on top of that. Mine was aquired for 5300.USD + 249.00 fee. All the fees are considered additional profit imho! If you want to save $50 and spend an additional 200 on gas check out lakehillmotors.com
You guys sure like to pay out the money! In June of 06 here in Tennessee i was given a quote of $5100 for a new 06 Majesty. Too bad i still have to ride my cheap 150 chinese scooter until my wifes car is paid off.
I got my charcoal 2005 for $5100 + some fees, taxes, and then I piled on all sorts of accessories. I must say, I really like the color, more than the blue. If I were getting a 2006, I'd probably get the red, but I really wanted the charcoal.. ;)[/b]

Adventure Motorsports in Monroe. Shockingly nice people. I'm actually located in Redmond.
I picked up a new '05 this April at a dealer in San Rafael, CA for $4999. But then all the other joyful charges (prep, license, tax, etc) took it up a bit more of course. The dealership is primarily a sport bike seller. They carry Ducati, Triumph, and Yamaha only and they sell few scooters so they still had 1 of the 4 they originally ordered of the '05 left. They didn't even bother ordering any '06 I think. So, I fell into a great deal on my favorite color -- Galaxy Blue. : )
Well, guess I need to exercise patience-

Our local dealer offered me their one and only '07- bumped it to early arrival- for $5300 OTD. (We do pay taxes separate here, but no dealer fees.)

It will be the blue- sounds like I better jump on this if I want a Majesty!

Where are you from???
Joplin, MO--

Just read what I wrote and it's actually $5200 OTD. He's basically selling it just above cost- per another dealer who told me to jump on it.

We've been very good customers and he offered an equally attractive deal on a '06 Burgman 400-- but I'm thinking I'll wait for the Majesty. Loved the red ones!
$5200 OTD for a 2007!?!?! You better jump on that deal. You can't get an '05 for that around here!
The dealer in the bay area is $5799.00 tax, license, transport, document brings it to exactly $7400.00
Wow holy crap. My dealer quoted me ('07 model) $5799 + PA tax + tags/fees + TINTA dealer fees = $6939, I thought that might've been high but apparently not so much. (TINTA = Take It iN The A**)
There going for much cheaper new on ebay.
