What did you pay for your new 2006 Majesty 400? Here in Arizona, it came to $6,600 out the door with battery tender junior and deluxe cover thrown in.

Yeah, there were no deals here either as the Yamaha dealer down the street from me was the only area dealer that even had any Majesty's in stock. I paid $6200 OTD.

I decided I liked candy red and was determined to get one. I called several dealers in the Atlanta area, but nobody had one. They all said that they could probably get one for an extra charge, bringing it well over 6K.

I went to the dealer closest to my house to look at the one he had in stock, which was not red. His price was over 6K out the door, and even more if he had to get one in my color; bad attitude was no extra charge!

I finally found a dealer 40 miles away that did not have any in stock, but was able to get me a candy red 06 for under 6K. I paid $5990 and am very happy.

Picked up my '06, never been ridden, Majesty in early July for a little over $5600. The owner was clearing his stock of '06s for the '07s, and he ate the destination and "setup" charges. Deals can be had, if you're in a high traffic area.

Hi everyone, I have been reading this thread and everyone seems to have paid pretty much $6000.00.....but I gotta ask what one thing made you pick the dealer you made your purchase with ?
Color ? sales person ? freebie ?

I paid $5740 for my new (not used) red '06 and that included the 4 year extended warranty and all the extra fees except for Tax and Tag.

I went to several dealers in the area, and this was the only one that bothered to let me talk to the service manager and the parts manager. There was no pressure to buy, only a willingness to answer any questions I had, and point out some things I hadn't thought of. All in all, a really good buying experience.

Just to give you all a perspective, in the United Kingdom the cheapest new I can get an '06 model Majesty 400 works out $7,855.77 OTR according to XE.com and thats about 300 miles away from me so other costs to be added. The list price for an '07 works out at $8,845.12

You guys don't half live cheaply what with these prices and what you pay for fuel  UK petrol (or 'gas') is about £0.90 per litre at the moment which works out at about $7 per US Gallon :(

Petrol is certainly expensive in your neck of the woods. My wife and I spent most of last September in the UK and were amazed at the cost (of everything). We were spending, on average, $75 US to fill our rental Ford Focus from 1/4 tank. No wonder you folks use many more two-wheelers for transportation.

Ride safe,

Larry

Last Saturday afternoon I went to Eastside Yamaha and looked at the three Majesty colors on display again (haven't bought yet) but sat on their FJR1300A by the door. They were so busy that I went to Tucson Cycle and Ski (Oldfather Rd) and they had no Maj's at all!
But, by the door was an '07 FJR1300AE so I sat on that for a minute. They left both keys tied together into the ignition. I know that the speedometer and other items don't light up unless the key is On so I turned it one notch and 'wheee' the panel did a startup self-test then came to life. No one seemed to notice as the entire staff was busy talking to other customers when I squeezed the front brake handle and gave the starter button a push and 'whooomph' it started right up, right there on the showroom floor pointing out a big open front door. Before I could get the sidestand up and balanced, a salesman stopped talking to the group he was with and came over while I was perched nearly upright and stood in front of the bike and said "You're going to have to turn it off - Fumes can build up in here." Alright then, I was busted but brief flashes of Thelma and Louise came to mind before I shut it down myself.
I tried to explain to the salesman while the engine was running that "I was ready to go" but humor had no effect.
