Busted Front Fender!

Was I in an accident?

No, thank God.

Did I drop the bike?

No.

What happened, you asked?

I had the bike parked in the parking lot, sidestand down, PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED and someone must have backed up into her, causing two cracks on the front fender.

Rode right to the dealer to order a new front fender $40.00, with a 7-10 day wait time for the part to arrive.

Point of the story?

Keep your parking break engaged. If I did not, the bike would have tipped over and ended up a lot worse.

Oh well, I almost made a year of ownership without any damage  . I should count my blessings though, as this is VERY minor compared to an accident. It just burns me up that the bike was there, parked legally, minding its own business...

Anybody out there change a fender? Thanks.

God Bless.

You should be able to figure it out from one of the parts diagram. Try motogrid.
How was it only $40, I thought the front fender were over $200? I need to replace mine, so let me know...

That's the quote my dealer gave me. Apparently, the front fender comes in two pieces, front (painted to match the bike) and rear (black plastic piece). He ordered me a blue front piece (maybe both pieces are $200?).
If you really get that sort of deal, please check for me on the 2006 Silver front body molding...
Well, this past Saturday, I got the new fender replaced (fender $40.00 + labor $45.00 for a half hour of work = $85.00 plus tax). Not to bad, but a lot of money when you consider I was totally blameless  . Oh well, like I said before, COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!

Take care and God Bless!!!
Would you check for me on getting me a silver front fender for the 2006 majesty? that is a great price!! PM me if you would, no pressure

I think the "fender" Willy is talking about is the small part immediately above the wheel, not the full-front body molding.
Brenham Yamaha in Texas has the best prices that I've seen and ships for free if you order off the web.

That's right Blex, the front fender, just above the wheel. The wheel needs to come off in order to install it, which is why I had the dealer do it. APB, just do a Google search for Yamaha OEM parts and you will come up with a bunch of web sites that will sell what you need.
