Dowco Guardian Scooter Cover

My Majesty will be kept outdoors year 'round, so a good cover is essential. I bought a Dowco Guardian Scooter Cover through my dealer. I've had it for two months now and thought a brief review might be in order.

I followed the recommendation at Dowco's website (www.dowco-inc.com) and ordered the XL size (the largest scooter cover Dowco makes). As can be seen in the photo below, XL fits my Majesty with stock windshield and passenger backrest nicely. However, I don't think XL is big enough to fit a Majesty with a top case.

The cover seems to be very well made. Dowco describe the Guardian cover as water repellent (not waterproof), and it has been that. The good fit means that there are no low spots to collect water.

The Guardian has a shock cord hem. This is a nice feature that keeps the cover from flapping around (or coming off) when it's windy. The only downside is that you have to be careful not to catch the hem in gaps in the Maj's bodywork as you put it on or take it off. A little practice is all that's necessary to avoid such entanglements.

I paid about $60CAD (incl. tax) for the cover and it seems to be an excellent value for the money. Of course, only time will tell how durable it is.
