I have been getting about 55mpg over the 1700 miles I've put on the scoot since May. The low was 52 and the high was 58. I don't think I'll ever see the 60+ that some poeple have been getting. But part of that is the fact that I'm fairly heavy on the throttle!

That's some great mileage! I get on average around 42 to 44. I just can't quit pushing that power button! Oh well, that's what happens when you belong to the RILISIP (Ride It Like You Stole It Party)!

Have Fun!!

I was getting from 52 to 55 MPG. For the last few weeks it has shot up.
I had one tank as high as 62 but the average has run from 55 to 58.
There are three possibilities I have considered.
1. Higher ambient temperature may mean the engine is running leaner.
2. The reformulated summer gas although I thought that would work the other way.
3. The change of the oxygenate from the old MTBE they used to use to the ethanol based one they now use. This seems to be the most likely. It will be interesting to see if the mileage falls back this next winter.

With both of my Majesties, I have consistently gotten 58-60 mpg. With a very modified PowerCommander map (Much richer settings) I have gotten a low of 53 mpg. When reset to a more appropriate setting with my Malossi variator, I am back to about my average again.

I ride a Suzuki Burgman 650 and get a near rock steady 50~51 mpg.
I think you are on the high end of that spectrum... I'm almost a constant 10 mpg lower than that..........just depends on how often I hit the power button!

i was gettting around 59 MPG, when I changed the oil at 4k and put in Castrol Syntec, it went to 61/62.. My ride is 48 miles a day, all city traffic.. When I do the 8k service, I plan to switch to foam air cleaners.. I read that helps, one poster said it got them 3 mpg..

Hey Hiflier,

So does the malossi variator give you better performance with no fuel economy penalty???? That sounds like a mod worth having...!!!!

I've been checking it every tank or so the last few days. (I fill up every day I ride) I'm steady on the 61-62 MPG figure. That's filling the tank all the way up into the filler neck. Make sure you are getting as close to the same ammount every time as you can. A couple of 1/10's will make a big difference in your average when your tank is so small.

I keep my tires inflated a little hard. About 40 psi. I weigh about 300 lbs myself, so I'm not running light. My commute is about 1/3 country road, 1/3 four lane highway, 1/3 interstate.

Red Herring,

how do you accelerate away from a dead stop ?

this makes a huge difference to mpg with a cvt type transmision.
i always use as little throttle as possible to get moving.
i only use max throttle when i absolutly have to.

Usually I lay into it, half to full throttle. Once up to speed I back off. The mileage is a little better with the lighter rollers... but not into the 50's! I have been gentle with the throttle at times, and have found it to make little difference. That being said... I have not really driven it ultra gingerly for a full tank, so maybe on my next fill, I will try and never give it more gas than needed.

I just got my Majesty last Sat(July 22nd 06). The first tank I got 52mpg but I was doing a lot of low speed practice to get the feel. The second tank I got 55.7 driving 21 miles one way to work with an average speed of about 65. I think the mileage will improve as it breaks in and after it does I'll switch to full synthetic both engine and tranny. I weigh 185. Updates to follow.
