Tried to upgrade my 2006 Majesty YP400 Clutch to the Malossi five shoe. Well...
It won't work properly. The Bell scrapes the set screw that holds the bearing in the housing cover. It does not scrape it badly, but in time, will grind away the screw, and could cause problems. The OEM clutch did not do this. Any ideas?

Don't quite understand. Isn't the bell static? I do know what will happen if the bolt that holds it all together comes loose. (That happened with the third of the four clutches I had & was why I needed the fourth. Really tore things up. I never did the work myself so I don't know that much about it but the last two were five shoe.

Oh, I forgot about this. Resolved the issue myself with input from members of the scooter group on Fb.
Apparently the Malossi Bell is to big for the Majesty Housing. So...
I left the Malossi Shoe assembly in, but used the old OEM bell for them to catch.
That worked!

No, it isn't too big for the housing. You did something wrong. It fits in mine just fine, and I've got a couple of friends who use the Malossi clutch and/or clutch bell in their Majestys with no problems. I can't think of a single person The only engine this part fits is the Yamaha Majesty 400 engine, if it didn't fit, Malossi would have heard something by now. Why don't these people ask the place they got it about this? Unless you and the idiots on the FB forum are the only people who ever bought this clutch bell housing, which is doubtful. I remember once some idiot on FB couldn't make the Dr Pulley clutch work. Turns out he put it on upside down.
