Tom. Will turn 50 in a few weeks - still feel 20. Reside in Mendota Heights and enjoy riding the Mississippi River Road between the two downtowns, Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Relatively new to riding motor bikes. Purchased two Zumas in '03, as well as a Yamaha XT225 dual purpose motorcycle. The Majesty was purchased in early '05.

Look forward to learning from the group and hope to contribute where and when I can.

How much flying do you get in?

I had a short aviation career, curtailed by a lack of funds and a verrrrrry anxious wife. Silver lining is that in her mind, compared to flying, motorcycling is safe, so I don't get any grief on that front.
Flew the Colt from St. Paul to Anchorage, Alaska, in 2001 following the Alaska Highway. Went up for the annual Piper Short Wing convention and my Colt took home "Best Colt" honors: actually, only one other Colt made the trip from the states.

In 2004, I had an accident while riding the XT225 on a motocross course. Busted my ribs in the back and they punctured a lung and it all got infected, so I ended up in the hospital and not too mobile for about six months. Didn't get much flying in that year.

But now back to regularly trying to get up a couple times a week, though not in the Winter: just too cold.

Given finite free time, it's hard to decide whether to ride or fly. My spouse too isn't in favor of either. She still hasn't flown with me, but has taken a few scooter rides. I've got my commercial rating, she's seen me come and go a thousand times, and she flies commercial almost weekly, but with four kids, she won't get into a small, single engine plane.

I've had my private rateing for airplane single engine land & gliders
since 1971. My wife has only been up with me once & she panicked that
time & I had to turn around & come back. She has also only ridden on the back of my motorcycle one time (nearly thirty years ago). I thought she enjoyed that but I have never gotten her to try again.
Hello, Tom, and welcome from a fellow Minnesotan.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your Majesty. It is a fine machine. I am confident that you will find MajestyUSA a helpful and informative place.

As you can see from my signature below, there is an active maxiscooter group in the Twin Cities. If I am guessing correctly, you recently join our talk forum as pegasus29z. If so welcome, if not do check us out.
