Just guessing ... that it's a "repair project" bought that way as salvage.

Hi guys. Yes I purchase this with a salvage title for $1,350, 5k miles. I already oldered:
$517.00 in OEM parts,
$110.00 on e-bay parts,
$100. from YSS USA in NJ for repair both OEM rear shocks to factory specs,
$150.00 for a 30" Touring OEM windshield,
and when everything is installed and ready for inspeccion:
$125.00 aprox for change the title status, registration and inspeccion fees.
I'm going to keep the scooter for a while, but I might sell the Tow Pac as-is, or with the fender replaced and painted.

I guess, is a way to have a good scooter at an affordable price.

If you mostly need to replace plastic, then yes, it might be a grat way to have a Majesty for cheap.

Can you describe the accident?

Both shock absorbers were broken... this can only result from an impact that was quite hard. I would suspect more damage to the rear part of the frame, maybe the engine/transmission assembly was damaged too.

The tow pac rear support bracket and right fender absorbed the most damage from the rear (2 steel arms bolted from the tow pac to the scooter shocks mounts),the rear wheel is straight, the engine runs good, transmission seems to be working properly,(tested on jack stands only and slow speed from my trailer to the garage), but I need to road test as soon as I receive the shocks from YSS USA to properly diagnose the rear end. In the front, was just broken plastics.

Right now I don't know how the accident happen, but eventually I will find out by state records. I purchased from an insurance company. I don't think it happen while running at high speed. It looks more like the bike was parked , waiting at an intersection or maybe running at slow speed. The frame and subframes are intact; the front upper stay frame had a slight bent that I fixed in 10 seconds, (assuming the front of the bike hit something after been hit from behind)The tow pac frame is intact, only 2 support brackets (24"-30")bent and the right fender. It looks more dramatic that what it is because all these plastics break easily. I maybe wrong, but I think if is not for the tow pac frame, the damage to the scooter will be worst. These frames are solid. A major accident will be classified as an "unrebuildable" or parts only.

Received all the OEM and e-bay parts. I still have to paint the cowling assy ($50.00 e-bay, different color). I will do a complete re-inspection, assemble and road test the scooter before I go any further :bounce:
Forgot to mention: received also the rear shocks from EPM Performance in NJ. They die new treads on the shafts, drilled new holes on the brackets with special nuts and assembled everything to OEM specs for $108.00 shipping included.

I have an ''08" maj and am thinking of putting on a tow pac trike kit so I can haul a trailer for my golf clubs. Are those 8 or 12 inch wheels on your kit? I may be interested in buying . MY SCOOT IS RED.

Wheels are chrome, 12", the tires looks fairly new. The frame and axles are like new, no damage. These axles are adjustable to your driving. I want to sell the tow pac since I like to ride in 2 wheels only. Make me a reasonably offer, as-is. You pay the shipping (if in Florida $50.00 delivery). I take pay-pal.
I called Tow Pac and sent all the pics of my mini trike. I requested to purchase the 2 rear brackets, a right fender and fender end. I talked to Dianne. The return e-mail I have from Dianne reads as follows:

I have discussed with Jeremie (our service technician) the parts needed for your Tow-Pac Mini Trike repair (2008 Yamaha Majesty 400).
(2) Brackets @ $50.00/ea
Left and Right Fender @ $500.00/pr (This is an old style Tow-Pac Kit and we no longer have these fenders - so it will be necessary to match the left to the right.)

The total for parts listed are $ 600.00
Shipment to Florida $ 60.00
Total $ 660.00

Contact us: Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. , or email anytime.

Once we receive your paid order, fabrication time is 10 days. Our parts are shipped Fed/Ex Ground.

Kindest Regards,

Dianne

Hi guys. Is been a while. Inspected the entire frame and found the long motor mount bolt absorbed some of the impact. Purchased on e-bay OEM for $16.00 shipped. Installed the new motor mount bolt, assembled the rear end and the remaining entire scooter by specs (still have to paint the front cowling). Also purchased a new rear tire (Bridgestone HOOP HO2A) :bounce:

After assembly the entire scooter, replaced the engine oil and filter, CVT fluid, spark plug, clean up all the air filters, filled the fuel tank with 93 octane fuel, added aprox 2 oz of Sea Foam to the fuel tank, went for a road test, and... what a difference compared to the Reflex 250. This scooter runs fast, smooth and is very stable at hwy speeds, the touring windshield works excellent with my height. it takes a little bit of RPM's taking off, but I can live with that, the CVT transmission shifts smooth and very strong at every speed, ran city and hwy for 2 hrs and only to 65MPH in hwy and... wao, what a response at high speed when accelerating, brakes works great, water temp gauge stayed at 1/2 all the time. I can't complaint so far. I'm loving this scooter. My wife loves the red OEM, but I'm thinking to do a custom paint job.
Will be heading to the DMV for a final inspeccion to change the title status. After that, I will decide about the paint job. :D
