If you have any suggestions or comments on what we have already, please speak up.

I was hesitant to use the Yamaha icons in the topic areas. I thought they might be too hard to recognize that they were the Yamaha logo. They looked great till I shrunk them down.

Any other topic areas you want added?

Im here for you. (Use me while Im deployed, when I get home in Jan, I might not have as much time with my 6 month pregnant wife and 3 boys, ages 4 1/2, 2 1/2, and 20 months.)

IF you need them shrunk, let me know, i can increase the pixel per inch first and then shrink it. That uselly helps keep them clean looking sometimes. Just need to tell me where to find it and what final size you want.

Holy cow, pun not intended... Give your wife a merit badge, trophy and lots of time off on your return. PS: Thanks for your service here and more importantly where you're deployed.
Green,

I just got my Majesty and this site was hugely helpful in the process. I'm sure it will be very useful as I own the beast too.

Nonetheless...

I think 24 categories is tremendous overkill -- most of the categories seem spurious in their true usefulness. It makes a lot of work to keep up with new posts... and the site has a very clear, tight focus to begin with -- it doesn't need the extranious categories.

If this site were YamahaScootersUSA, I could see a few more categories.

I've been on sites that have places for people to tell jokes etc, but I can't see that it's really necessary here.

Check out Modernvespa.com for a very lean setup, and Urbanscootin.com for a setup a lean but not super lean setup.

I would really like to see a way to add photos directly to posts. I realize this has implications for the host, but it sure would make life easier and this forum a whole lot more vital.

I hope this is constructive.

Thanks

PS I just got rid of my Paypall account... is there another way to donate?

you can add pictures directly to a post.

you just need to upload them to a web server first.
then you use the "IMG" button on top of the post reply box.

press the img button type the url of the picture then press the img button again.

like this.....

I guess that's my point... I'd like to see uploading of photos directly... ie, without having to load them to another web server first.

Beautiful shot, btw.
thanks.

oh i see. you want to be able to have the forum server host the files ?

i think that could be a problem of bandwidth for the web server the forum runs off.

would be nice though...

My two favorite scooter forums, prior to getting a Majesty, have been the Urbanscootin and Modervespa forums... they both host pictures and it makes a tremendous difference in the ease of use... and effectiveness of communication.
Can't you post to the gallery and link to those images (I haven't tried since I have my own web server.)
hadnt thought of that, ill give it a go now......

nope, that does not work.

the way the gallery seems to work, is that it drops the .jpg extention from the file name. without the .jpg extention, the img button does not work.

it was worth a try i spose.

But these work:

Jason's Majesty

Use "url" instead of "img" in the link you input.
i see.......

that will allow a link to the pictures, but not allow them to be displayed directly in the post itself (as in my above example).

that will have to do. at least this way someone can upload to the gallery, then link to their pictures in a post.

thanks.

I think that's what the Road Stories section is for-- stories about group and solo rides.
Graygoose, what do you do with the comments posted here?

I leave them here for others to read.

Blexcroid takes care of most issues. I come over here from time to time. Currently I have our newborn (3 weeks old and 5 weeks early) taking up most of my time.
Ever thought of calling this MajestyWORLD to include our friends the globe around?

I kept the "USA" as a signature from BurgmanUSA.com

I made BurgmanUSA in Aug 2003. It ended up being a world wide community. When I was asked to make MajestyUSA for Majesty owners, I brought over the USA to keep the alikeness of BurgmanUSA. (Did that make sense?)

In Firefox, go to the gallery page, right click on the image, and select 'Copy image location' and paste between the URL tags.

In Internet Explorer, go to the gallery page, right click on the image, and select 'Properties', in the popup window copy the Address URL (select and type CTRL+C), and paste between the URL tags.

thanks for the tip.....
