Hi all,

Anybody know what has to be removed to splice into the brake light and turn signal wiring to make the lights in my topbox work???? I am not inclined to just start removing tupperware for the fun of it till I actually find the wiring in question. Any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers!

Well, if it involves tapping the wires that lead to the taillights, then you'll be removing all the parts I did to take the rear fender off! The wiring harness runs down the left side, so you could actually leave the right rear quarter panel on... but that still involves removing a lot of parts. It's easy though...

yep, you only need to remove the left side plastic to get to the wiring harness that runs the rear lights.

there is a three wire line that runs the tail/brake light, and two more twin lines that run the indicators. it is a very straight forward job to get to these, but it will take some time.

you still have to remove the rear battery cover, the cover that goes under the tail light, to allow access to remove the lrft side panel.

i have wired my top box with LED indicators, and brake light.
the brake light was the stock gii one, the indicators, i made myself.
