Which brand of oil filter do you use and where do you purchase it?

Hey atccya....... the Majesty oil filter does not show well in filter catalogs. you have to cross reference it with the Burgman 400. The Burgman 400 uses the same filter and is easily found. After market filters that I am familiar with are the Wix 24949, NAPA 4949, FRAM ch6066, & K&N 132 . Of course a Yamaha or Suzuki dealer will also have them........

Several people have suggested that the NAPA PS4949 filter is the right one for the Majesty.

Scootertrap lists one type of filter for the Suzuki Burgman (KN-132 and HF 132) and a different filter for the Majesty (KN-131 and HF 131).

NAPA (www.napafilters.com) does NOT recognize the PS4949 as a replacement for the Majesty filter or the KN-131/HF131. It says that they have no equivalent. It says the PS4949 is the right filter for the Burgman.

So I question whether the PS4949 is the right filter for the Majesty.

Any comments?

The NAPA PS4949 is one of the many aftermarket filters for the Majesty. Others have also been listed in this thread. I ordered one from my Yamaha dealer and also bought one from my NAPA dealer. Good thing, too as it took Yamaha 2.5 weeks to get it while NAPA had it in stock. I put another 800 miles on the Majesty before Yamaha came through with the filter.

One very important thing to remember is that the NAPA filter came with the new o-rings and the Yamaha filter DID NOT!!!!! Yamaha wants another $8 for the o-rings. I don't think so!!!!! If you really want the OEM filter, then make sure you order it a few weeks before you'll need it.

Anyplace you find the filter, check the box before you buy. It may not be a big deal to re-use the old o-rings (according to my Yamaha dealer) but it's nice to know that you can buy the filter and they come with it.

Your experience may be different.

Been using them since I bought the bike 3 years ago. The filter is a replacement and the o rings fit as well. I have one now sitting on my shelf waiting for the next oil change.
